Default just finished my cf gas tank cover. :) pics!!!

just starting to do cf wrapping for me and a few friends. already done a trunk, 2 gas tank covers, and a glovebox. for anyone interested i can wrap your stuff in cf but im located in toronto. so most of you would need to ship it.

heres all the stuff i need.

heres my cf.

gas tank cover all sanded down

waiting for resin to dry and fully cure.

it was wavy so i wetsanded it with 600/1200/1500 grit sandpaper.

all done and on the car. just need to polish it more and maybe add clear coat to make it shine.

I ask the same question.

I thought at first maybe you were trying reduce some weight but all you did was cover the gas tank cover.
Now you should cover the whole car with carbon fiber and clear coat it to match. j/k

just showing my finished work. it is for my sc400. been seeing a lot of finished project threads so i figured to post my own. btw if you meant what's the point of the wrapping the gas tank cover in cf. its purely for looks and nothing more. i always see people putting that fake metal sticker and fake cf sticker on it. so i did one better and used actual cf. i just have an obsession with cf and plan on wrapping anything i can on both my cars in cf.

funny you should mention that. so many people already told me to do that to my gtr. but i have a friend thats actually building a full cf r32 gtr. he plans on getting molds of all the body pieces and making full cf copies.

Looks good. I plan on wrapping my console and all of the fake wood in CF pretty soon.

From the title I thought you had made a carbon fiber cover for the gas tank in the trunk to replace the liner, that would have been pretty cool

good job on doing something not many have done, you should do other things for the interior though

thanks for all the compliments guys. honestly cf is so hard to work with but worth all the trouble once its done. for anyone that plans on working with cf. heres a nice way to test if its real. real cf wont burn no matter how long you hold it to a flame. it'll just turn red then cool down once away from the flame.

It look cool and look real too. If u CF your whole car, ppl will think omg, your car must be sooo light . Also ppl be like "omg where you get that CF part from" or "I didn't know they make CF in that part" LOL good jokes.

on a black car I guess it doesn't look so bad...it would look tacky on a light colored car

Good to see you are learning these skills. I think it may be more popular to work on covering some of the interior pieces such as the wood trim, steering wheel, etc..
