Default just did a resonator delete on my sc400. (vid)

i just did a resonator delete on my sc400. im actually curious since people tell me an sc400 for is supposed to have 3 cats(1 after each downpipe then a center cat) and 2 resonators. mine was the opposite. 2 cats and 3 resonators. at first i thought it had exhaust work already previous to me owning it. but its all stock toyota resonators plus no sign of any cutting or welding prior to me working on it. has anyone heard about an sc400 having 2 cats and 3 resonators?

heres the vid. i was reving the engine to about 3500-4000rpm.

i can already tell you that your resonator delete sounds better and more aggressive than a resonator delete with 3 cats. i took some video when i deleted mine (with 3 cats) and it didn't sound as aggressive and deep as yours. good job...sounds great... did you remove only the 1 center resonator or all 3? BTW, yes, i have heard about most having 3 cats and others having a resonator instead of a 3rd, center cat, so 3 resonators altogether.

i just removed all 3 resonators and left everything else on the exhaust. i love how it sounds. sounds agressive when driving but very mild at idle. plus cops cant do anything about it since everything is legal. here in canada as long as the stock cats are still in place and working and the piping diameter is still the same including the muffler tip. then its perfectly fine.

very nice sound. I did something similar, except I only removed the two resonators closest to the mufflers.

now i know how only 2 cats (pre-cats) would sound without my 3rd, center cat. i like it. you are pretty much done with exhaust mods i would think.

i have a cutout (bypasses mufflers) with a turndown tip (all 2 resonators deleted) and it sounds very mean and deep. if i deleted the center cat it would probably sound a little better, deeper and louder. i was just hoping it wouldn't sound too raspy/ugly. only problems are actually getting it cut out since it's illegal and passing emissions but I am quite sure (99.9%) I could still pass emissions easily here in TN if I deleted the center cat, given that there are 2 pre-cats.

I think it sounds awesome.. Not too loud, but very aggressive... Maybe another muffler project idea?

I bet the acoustics in that parking garage are making it sound a little meaner than what it normally would....still, nice aggressive exhaust note.

im actually gonna do a custom catback exhaust. i just did this for now since it was so cheap to do and i was already at an exhaust shop when i thought of doing it. im planning to get a proper x pipe and 2.5 inch piping to the back with some aftermarket mufflers.
