So I just purchased some HIDs, . Installation was pretty straight forward but I can't seem to understand the problem. Both lights cant' seem to stay on at the same time. Soon as i turn them on, one flickers twice for a fraction of a sec then goes off or just does not come on at all. And both lights seem to alternate doing this. One minute it's the left one then next minute it's the right one. Checked all the connections and even switched the ballast from left to right and vice versa but no luck. Please help before i lose my mind.

do you have a bad ground on your low beams?
are you sure all connections are positive to positive?
also which HIDs did you buy? cheap ones may be the issue...

I had the same problem and a simple relay solved the problem. Got mine off E-bay for $15 or so.
The problem is caused I believe by voltage drop in the factory wiring, so the voltage is not sufficient to drive both ballasts. A relay provides a direct feed from the battery to the HID's bypassing the factory wiring. The factory on/off switch is connected to the HID ballast using aforementioned factory wiring, and sends current to the bulb when you turn it on.

- a positive lead - this goes direct to your battery positive terminal.
- a negative lead - this goes to your chassis (earth).
- a male connector - this goes to your HID ballast.
- a female connector - this plugs into the SC400 headlight plug.

Mate, the on/off switch is the factory headlight switch and wiring. The male factory headlight plug is inserted into the relay harness (female socket with blue and black wires below). When you switch on the headlights the relay senses this and passes current directly to the HID ballasts.
