so Keep the NA-T, spend thousands of dollars for the engine to look like this and achieve what a swap with simple add-ons would have done ?

I'm just saying that he can work with what he has. He doesn't have too. I say, "Do what makes YOU happy!!" If you want a TRUE GTE, then get one Brother!!! Regardless, I hope your build goes well. Good Luck!!

I would rather just save for the GTE swap, find good deals (forums), and reach my goals while still keeping it as my DD.

1jz: Map based, coil packs, FFIM, 280hp stock, higher rev limit, direct drop in.
NA-T: Still has distributor, MAF, crappy looking IM, needs new headgasket, and has stock rev limit and valvetrain components.

I went 1jz because 95 percent of parts are very easily attainable, it looked great, I didnt have to mess with a MAF or disty, and could hold power without me having to get a thicker headgasket or do any major work.

Good point. If you have a good shop to go to parts are easy to get. And the MAF what a nightmare! my buddy has a s14 RB25DET swap and is stuck (BAD MAF= only 420whp @6000 rpm) in tell he gets a AEM.
