Default better to piggyback aftermarket alarm or disable the oe one?

Hey all,
I'm putting in a aftermarket alarm with remote start,
been reading some of the old threads on here.
seems like some people permanently disable the oe alarm, and some people have the new one as a piggyback (while keeping the oe one active as well)

Which way did you do it, and why?
(just debating which route to do it)
thanks

also any tips/suggestions from when you did your install?

I use both, the aftermarket when it pulses it disarms the factory, kinda odd, but its the way we hooked up mine.

tear old one out, and compleley replace it with new one, new wires everything, trust me on this, if anything goes wrong its endless headache, why would i know? i have a integra with oem and aftermarket alarm, i had no remote so i cold not even start that sucker anymore, would go beeping as ssooon as i insert in the key and solution? tear whole oem and aftermarket crap out, and sleep with one eye opened with shotgun by your side

I piggybacked mine and it worked wonderfully, as long as you dont use the key-fob from the OEM alarm anymore to do anything, it wont set off the aftermarket alarm and you can have the extra's that come with the aftermarket without having to go to the trouble of ripping the whole system out

thanks guys,
I'll try and keep my stock system too

btw: when your aftermarket alarm goes off, does it also activate the OE one? (I like that the OE one activates that loudass factory horn)
Or vise-versa?
like when the stock alarm detects the trunk/hood was opened....

will that also trigger the new alarm?

also what additional modules do you guys have? auto window roll up/down?

I figure I'll install everything in one shot instead of going back later on...
