How legitimate is a carbon fiber hood that only costs $650?? I've seen fiber glass hoods for $800, and the same hood in carbon fiber is $1500-2000. Anyone ever buy this hood? How is the fitting too? A lot of CF hoods don't align or fit the same as the OE hood.

importtoys carries quality products, but I don't think Marcus has a carbon hood avail. yet, i'm pretty sure what's on his site is the GSPL hood and side mirror applique. JohnnySC is working on getting one, and a couple of other guys are willing to make one for a group buy, we'll manage to get one sooner or later. Another way you could go would be the Vertex T&E carbon hood, if you can get one imported, it's in Option2 magazine, you missed the thread a week or two ago, do a search. The weight savings would be big, the OE hood weighs plenty.

Would anyone else be interested in this hood? I am going to look into importing one, but I think unless I order 3 or 4 the shipping will be too ridiculous. Let me know, and if anyone thinks they would be interested I will check into it. I have no idea what the price would be, but I would guess between $1500-$2000.
Understand that Vertex IS NOT some cheap imitation part, and is known for excellent quality and fitment.

hey all, the carbon fiber hood idea is kinda in limbo right now from my supplier. It turns out he got a demo hood from the manufacturer and the fit was terrible. He is looking for other hoods as we speak, but the first hood was really bad he said.

I have a friend that owns a company that builds almost everything outta carbon fibre. He mostly does Porsches, Lambos, etc...But If I could get enough people together I'm sure he would produce the hoods and or doors...
I wouldn't be interested myself, but if any of you are.......let me know.....

Krypto- I am interested in a hood and carbon fiber doors if you could see what kind of pricing we are talking about.
Jeff- I will try to get pricing on the doors and hood for us, because I am interested in both, but I have a feeling the doors will be some stupid price

I could *potentially* be interested in a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid (no doors for me though).
If you could, please try getting pricing and weights.
I'm guessing we can save ~40 lbs from the OEM hood and maybe ~10-15 lbs from the trunk lid?
Good enough for me!
Anything to get near Supra weight and get that weight distribution closer to 50/50.
