Accelerator Sticks
Hi:
Quick question: When I start up my car, usually when it's cold, my accelerator pedal tends to stick so that I have to press it a certain (and approximately constant) ammount in order to get it unstuck. It then doesn't stick again until the car cools down, and I just start the car up again.
I've tried to use WD40 on the back of the accelerator pedal, and where the hinge is, but to no avail.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim

Couple of things to try:
1. Check the cable and linkage to the throttle valve. You'll need to remove the black plastic rectangular cover right next to the throttle body, just couple of bolts.
2. Clean and lubricate the cables as required.
3. Check the throttle return springs.
Hope that does the trick, good luck.

Your throttle body may have gunk on it.
When its closed and flush against the throttle body, it may try to stick the first thing in the morning.
Solution: Juice the throttle plate with Gumout.
