i've gotten the water out of a water locked car before but not one that has been turned over after it has stalled. and our mechanic said it could be a 200 dollar repair based on what has happened.

How could you say that the sc is like an Japanese muscle car...
Car has fukin amazing low end performance. After I get my supercharger in it the car will be ill.

Actually, its not that hard for someone to do. It SAVES money. If you would rather buy a whole new engine when only a few new parts are needed, then you are certainly insane. It's the OP's decision anyway

<---- you see that?

Re-enact that towards your auto shop because that is horse****.

Go to a junk yard or find someone swapping in another engine and spend 800 bucks.
Then, drive back to your auto shop and pop your hood and say, " 600 bucks, you idiot."

Then, take a molotov cocktail, throw it in his shop along w/, oh, I don't know, 30 more.

Let sit.

Enjoy.

What moron would buy this?? This is a stupid comment, you could do a 1 or 2 jzgte swap for less, infact i would suggest to the OP thats what needs to be done, you are already in texas so call JHOT and get you a 1jz swap, you could have the whole thing done right for around $3k including labor or less if you do it yourself.

$500-700 for a junkyard engine, another $500+ for rebuilding. If you want it to last through college, save the cash and keep the car V8 for now. Trust me you need all the dough you can get . Wait until after college before you start searching for larger power options (1JZ/2JZ/supercharger).

i found one online for 900. it has a 90 day warranty and im going by my mechanics tomorrow with the website to show it to him and see if he will do the swap for me and quote me on the price. i could do the work myself but i do not have the garage or tools right now to do it....

he said he was quoting me on a new one from lexus instead of a used 1uz engine

i'm 18.... and have like 4k in stocks... thats how extensive my savings are. the point is to save money not blow it. plus it would be cool to try and keep the car stock for the engine and supercharging it will definitely put me over 300 hp.

LOL yeah young kids don't have $9,000 to drop on a 2jz the kid wants something stock. For that price he could buy 2 more SC's give me a break newb head slap. Buy a used 1UZ-FE for $800 or less and have someone install it for $600 or less. Its called "shopping around" and not staying with one guy. It won't cost $3000 where are you people getting these outrageous prices from? Make sure that the motor is actually from a 95 and not a 92-94 or a 96. That year was weird with the ECU change. That motor did NOT have a cold start injector compared to the older ones which did. Look at junkyards in the area and see if you can work something out. People with the 2j and 1j swaps give it a rest some people have budgets to follow and deadlines to get the car on the road.

I am not suggesting he should spend $9000 on a engine. I am just pointing out how absurd it is that the shop quoted him $9000 for a new/rebuilt v8.
