SC3 vs. Rousch Stage 1
Dead even from 55-100. After that, he started pulling me. That was with me (200 lbs), ski gear (100 lbs) and my luggage (200 lbs) and windows down. Got 450 miles out of that tank of gas too. By the way, Ole Miss has BEAUTIFUL women. Starkville (Miss. State) sucks more *** than a liposurgeon. Absolutly horrible.

Sorry, no pipe action for me. Actually, the windows were half down, I got 447 miles to that tank without the light coming on, and I was on my way to Ole Miss. Normaly in the city I get around 250 per tank, but that is all city driving. I have a size larger tire (225 from the stock 215) so give or take 3-4 miles per hour and add that to the 55-100. Also, I admit that he had about 2ft on me at 100 and after that he yanked me like a scalded dog. We fought traffic with a silver BMW 540 for 30 minutes before finding two lanes open on a bridge. Last, it was a black Mustang GT with a Rousch body kit, side emblems, and side exhaust, so I am presuming that the stage 1 is the lowest class mustang. If he just had the body kit, excuse me. I wasn't exactly staring trying to figure out much other than it was a GT, a Rousch, and was alot cleaner than mine was at the time.

maybe it was just a stage 1 and i ran a V6 rosche? I know they exist...
rosche is mainly just a body kit until you get to the major major upgrades
possibly could have been an automatic... could you tell?
auto GTs are very slow; like high 14s cars

Might have been an auto, he drove with his right hand from what I saw. It was a gt, with a gold kit, chrome 17" wheels, the cool side exhaust, and plus the way he took off from me after 100.

V6 auto Mustang?!?!! Hahaaa, those things are piles! 3-speed auto being pulled by a 190hp joke. And they weigh as much as a pre-96 SC400! I have a couple of friends with that ride and once it was about to tap out climbing the Sunol Grade (any of you Bay Area guys will understand that) with just me and a 110-pound girl in it. I could kill that car off the line with my gearbox starting in park. There's a lot of those V6 Mustangs dressed up as Rousches around there too. You can tell by the sound of the exhaust.

Lex, I know.. I took a Roush Stage 2 V8 (which is what I think he raced) for a test drive up here in Marin. That thing is GUTLESS at freeway speed and is deafeningly loud even with the windows up. Afterward I told the salesman "too much show, not enough go... my Lexus is faster." After he grumbled something about my car having a 4 liter V8 I thanked him for the test drive then promptly pulled onto the street and burned halfway down the street

The Rousch prepped Stangs do not have much over the stock one's as far as *****.
Though, as the owner of a '92 Mustang also, my SC300 would not beat it even when bone stock (14.2 vs. 15.3 in the 1/4), especially on the low end (the Stangs are animals with the low-end torque, where my SC3 needs to hit about 3750 before turning it up). Driving has a LOT to do with it, and you never really know when the other guy/girl is really stepping on it.
Now, as for that 447 miles on a single tank, WTF?? HOW did you do that. The 2 times I got just over 400 on a tank I was ecstatic. You weren't just driving at 55MPH in 5th for the full tank, were you?

I was shocked too about my milage. Normaly in the city I get around 230-250 and never took my car on long enough trip to measure the highway milage. The first tank I got 410. I nursed it a little more and got the 447. I got 435 on the way back home, and got 400 flat coming up through some back roads. I just kept my foot out of it, that was the biggest thing. You know, keeping it below 3k RPM.
Take last night. A 96 Camry with a couple of girls in it was hauling *** in a 35 down College Ave. and started to play a little with slowing and speeding up. I was tempted to just take off and play a little back, but looked a little harder and saw that the passenger was absolutly heinous. Good enough reason for me to let them go on about thier business.

Smart move ... I can deal with the good and the bad, but not the ugly.
Really, my 300 coupe is nearly bone stock (K&N filter = 1HP, Centerforce 1 clutch & Eibach Pro-Kit = 0HP), and I have NEVER lost to any stock imports, or any of the ricers, from a stoplight.
It really sucks that they take all of this money, buy the same damn cosmetic parts, and pay little or no attention to the ***** of the car.
My GF even kills them with her little Sentra SE-R (though that thing does have some good muscle for its weight).
I really do love my car, and even though the 225HP is good, I will look to bump that up after I'm in my house (can you say home equity loan ... hehehe).
