I'm thinking about removing my '93 factory spoiler ... just don't like it. I assume that if I remove it, I'd have to fill a couple of holes and paint it? Has anyone ever done that?
As an alternative, I might also replace it with another type of spoiler, something that doesn't have that 'flat' look. Hope you understand what I mean.
Are there spoilers which would fit as a direct replacement for the factory spoiler?
Thanks,

If you're going to remove the spoiler, I would suggest you have a replacement for it. SCs just don't look right to me without one. Also doesn't the spoiler lower C.o.D? I'm also curious about replacement/aftermarket spoilers. I want a single wing that is 2-4 inches high, flat, and simple.
BTW, after I wash my car the first part that tracks dust, dirt, and crap is the back end. My theory is that air flow around the spoiler creates a greater vacuum which sucks particles out of the air. Does anyone else experience this phenominon or am I going nuts?

Here's another type of spoiler that I thought I'd throw out for you shoppers. I don't agree with this particular design, but apparently it fits the SC well and makes use of the LED brake lights.

lex400sc - almost every car will first get dirty in that rear bumper area, spoiler or not. As a car speeds down the road, the still air is "pushed" aside. The front and rear tires kick up dirt, which swirls around in the turbulence created by the low pressure pocket of air immediately behind the car. No matter what else a spoiler does, it won't eliminate the need for that air to get back there- "nature abhors a vacuum".
So you bring up a good point- whatever kind of spoiler you end up getting, be sure you can easily clean it, because it's gonna get dirty! How those Camaro owners put up with cleaning those foot-deep, 2-inches-above-the-trunk spoilers is beyond me.

Umm ... anything a little bit more ... conservative
? Don't want anything as huge as the ones on the pics. First one is nice though, but I wouldn't put it on a Lexus. But that's just me.
