I'm not sure what this jdm craze is all about, grass is always greener i guess expect its not. You should take a page out of the australian playbook and rebadge that toyota, lexus. Either that or just run it debaged.

Shave them. That way if you decide to put emblems back on, you dont have to worry about covering up holes. I spent $100 to get about 15 holes welded and painted my trunk.

Now I'll have to convince them to shave it... it's pretty much prepped for paint, I kinda feel bad for asking them to do it.. but I find that if I don't do this now, I'll regret it FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRR

I wish I saw that picture earlier.. lol
