basic performance
What basic engine performance enhancements can I do to my SC 300
without major modifications to my car. I also notice that most people are using mobil 1 engine oil. Is it better than the castrol syntec that I use?

The most rewarding and most central performance bolt-on would be a turbo for that SC300. Then intake, headers, and exhaust. Last step would be an SAFC or chip. If you wanted to crank out the boost on the turbo, you could go into building up the engine block too. There are lot of SC300 tuners in here that will jump in with more thorough input too. Basic stuff for any car includes:
- intake (K&N-style filter and usually an intake pipe)
- cat-back exhaust
Those are your best 'go faster' mods.
Then you get into handling, etc:
- shocks/struts
- springs
- wheels
- tires
- sway bars
- strut tower bars
...anything above what I just mentioned is probably starting to get more 'advanced' including a supercharger or a turbocharger.
HTH.

If you can please give a website , a company , or a phone number.

Regarding Castrol Syntec -
From what I have heard, read, etc .... Castrol a few years ago changed the way they manufacture their only synthetic oil - moving away from a 'true' synthetic, and using a super refined dino oil as a synthetic label. It's known as a hydrocracked oil ...
A bit better than regular oils such as Castrol GTX, Valvoline All Climate, and Penzoil ... but not matching the true synthetics - Mobil 1, Valvoline Synthetic, etc ...
Right now I am using Valvoline Max Life, an oil for high milage engines (over 75K miles) It's the same type of oil as Castrol Syntec, but at a lower cost.
Any of you guys out there have any input on all of these new lines of motor oil marketed towards 'higher milage' engines?
