Paint Job almost done, found defects....
My 93 Soarer is in the paint shop right now as we speak. I should be getting it back on Monday. I stopped by the shop today to see how things were going, and I found some defects that I would rather have it fixed... what should I do? Keep in mind I didn't pay yet, and the car's supposed to be ready for Monday. Will not post the name of the shop here, perhaps things will be fixed Monday, hopefully. They said they still have some detailing to do..
Price was settled at $2,500. (They asked me if I was going to install and, and I told them another shop. This price was only because I bought my kit there and they said that they could make me a package deal. I told them another shop quoted me $2,250)
My car was originally white pearl, wanted a repaint + a body kit (brand new kit)install.
The overall paint looks good on the car, it's just some minor defects
He also wrote down the things he would do.
- Complete Paint Job (White Pearl)
- 1 Coat White Sealer
- 2-3 Coats white base-coat
- 1-2 coats tri-coat (Pearl)
- 3 coats clear coat (complete buff)
- Put on body kit (mold front bumper)
- Exterior Paint Only
- Fix dents 1/4 / fender / top
Total: $2500.00 Signed by owner.
Anyways, Here are the pics
Car is not bad, needs a good buff + detail
Whole Kit
Looks good from far.. but..
Front Bumper. This dent is my only complaint on it.
They should've saw this when primed and could've fixed it.
Excuse given: You don't notice it when it's on the car..
My response I haven't given yet: IT BOTHERS THE F*** OUT OF ME! I'M PAYING!
Side Skirts
I'll let the words do the talking. The part where it's about 1cm stickout out with lots of chips is VISIBLE when the door is open....
More pics on bottom..

it kinda depends on houw much you paid for it. like aliga said, if you paid top dollar, then yeah, tell them.
but if its like.. 200 bucks paintjob, no complaining there.

This is why I don't deal with fiberglass. I mean it sucks that you are paying for a quality job and you're not exactly getting that. Im beginning to think these fiberglass bumpers where not even prepped before the primer when on. Don't get frustrated with them. Work it out. Otherwise it can escalate to something worse and the end result will be a crappy paint job and a lot of money being spent.
