Default I have a holesaw

Everyone knows Our SC's are pigs. I mean, Christ, a 2 door, all aluminum V8, "sport coupe" weighing 3600lbs? WTF is this? A damn GTO? Yea, I know, Its "Luxury" but there has to be places where I can easily remove weight without going all out and "gutting"

Im wondering, what can I do, to remove weight without compromising structural integrity too much, while still maintaining the Luxury theme.

Maybe take a holesaw to my front and rear aluminum bumpers? A plastic Gas Tank?

What I've done so far

-Subtract weight
Spare Tire w/Jack & Tools- 70lbs
Stock sub-10lbs
Nakamichi amp-???
CD Changer-10lbs
Irotors Drilled/Slotted- ???
18x7.5- G35 sedan sport rims, split 5 spoke-26lbs ea
(what do my stock wheels weigh!?)
TOTAL= -90+ lbs

-Add weight
2-JL 10W3's, ported boxes-45lbs
JL 500/1-15lbs
Kenwood Amp-9lbs
TOTAL= +69lbs

Feel free to help out if u know any weights

No way in hell, everybody always rides in the Lex lol. Besides, that's ghetto.

My friend actually did that though. He had to mow lawns with a mazda protege, back when gas was 4$ a gallon, so he ripped out the seats and covered all the bare metal with a spray on rhino liner. Stuck his weed whacker and lawn mower back there with room for gas cans haha

I have been debating this for a while. I would take out the back seat but I have no idea of what to do with the bare metal.

The back seat wouldn't save you much weight. It is almost all foam and leather, very few brackets that would make it weigh more.

how bad do you want to save weight?
I hear the supra control arms, which are interchangeable with the sc ones are made out of aluminum and not steel like ours
good mod, but not cheap

als the stock seats with their motors weigh a ton

The SC is what it is, what good is a couple hundred less pounds going to do for you? Not much. Enjoy the ride for what it is.

LS400 calipers are lighter.

Racing seats are lighter and still look good.

5spd swap is lighter than auto

Take out ABS system

Take out TRAC pump

Remove engine bay undercarriage plastics

Remove rear seatbelts

Relocate battery to the back/get lightweight braille battery

Get a soarer steering wheel (No airbag), remove airbag module

Remove clutch fan, install electric fans

Get an aluminum radiator

Ditch the floor mats

You should save a good 2 hundred pounds with all of that, possibly.

There are actually a couple threads floating around that resemble this topic. I agree with you, our cars are pretty heavy. It feels even heavier if you have and SC300 because our motors are a little underpowered without the turbos. If you are really that dedicated to make your SC lose some weight I would suggest starting with the body. Replace the hood, trunk, and doors all with carbon fiber replacements and have them painted to your car's color. Next I would work on the interior. The seats are about 65lbs each. I'd look into something with leather that weighs about half that. Other than that you cant really do much to the interior since you are trying to maintain the luxury aspect of the vehicle. For the trunk I'd remove the gas tank and get a cell. Remove the spare of course. Also if your car is an auto you might want to replace it with a 5speed since the weight difference is pretty significant.
