SC400 painted 98 Toyota Supra QUICKSILVER
Here are a couple updated photos taken today of the car I bought my father way back in September of 2007. I decided to have this car re-painted Toyota Black and gave the car to my painter the first week of December 2007. Here it is almost 18 months later and progress is finally being made. Some of you might remember that this car was re-painted Toyota Black twice and resulted in a horrible paint/chemical reaction that left the finished paint job less than acceptable. So the car was chemical stripped and I decided on a whim to have this car re-painted 98 Toyota Quicksilver. The car in these few pictures is extremely dirty and dusty. The car has yet to be wet sanded or rubbed out to a perfect wet looking shine. I can't wait to finally give him this car. I rolled all four fenders before we painted the car a third time. The 18X8.5 38mm offset MOMO wheels with 245/45/18 Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tires fit beneath the stock suspension without any rubbing. I want to get some 18X9 with 255/40/18 tires in the front and some 285/35/18 rear tires mounted on an 18X10 or 10.5 wheel. These wheels and tires are definitely not anywhere close to my first choice especially now that I rolled all four fenders. These wheels were from his pristine Jade Green 92 SC400 that this car will be replacing.

This painter has had this car for 18 months. The car had all the windows removed except the windshield and back glass. He is suppose to be wet-sanding and rubbing the car out today. I actually went to his shop yesterday and drove the car to an alignment shop. I got several looks from people as I was driving with no bumpers or lights. I was putting my arms out the window to signal and people still were almost A$$-ENDING me each and every time I slowed down to turn. A little over a year ago I installed my 98 Supra Turbo front and rear sway bars as well as both new 98 Supra Front Lower Control Arms from Carson Toyota. The car drives great now after the front and rear end alignment. I am still suprised at how off both of my front and rear alignment was after the installation of those parts. I tried my best to mark each and every part so that I thought it would be perfectly aligned. Oh well, not even close.
