Default cluster not workin

I have 140,000 miles on my sc400, My cluster started acting up a few days now, but turned off an on sometimes. I changed the bulbs in the back an checked all the connectors to see if it was pushed in by any chance. I also checked all my fuses, but still no help resally. Cud i send it in anywhere to get fixed, or cud lextech help with this problem.

Sounds like main power supply issues. The mobo is likely toast. Problem is the fix is not cheap. You have to buy a used cluster of similar year, then take it to lexus and have them set your mileage ($$$$$).

If you want to strain your brain about it, Silicone works best cold, capacitors tend to prefer warmth. You're cutting out while warm so a chip is failing.

Go get a can of non conductive electronics freeze spray:

Pull the backplate off the cluster and turn it on. Work your way around the board until you find the spot that you spray and the cluster starts working again.

Congratulations, you now know what the chip is that's failing, but can't get it to save your life because it's 20 years old and likely one of the pre-programmed ones from Nippendenso.

Now, go slam your head against the roof and move back to plan A.
