16 Miles to the gallon???
Just checkin my gas mileage (sp?) anyway...looks like I'm getting 16 to the gal. Not racing...O/D on....etc...
Think it's just tune up time, or should I take it in to the dealer?
If it's tune up time, what kinda costs should I expect?

I get avg. 17 MPG, a lot of city driving, I guess I could consider hwy driving as city driving as well since I am stuck in the traffic for like 2 hrs a day bumper to bumper. I've done tune up about 10,000 miles ago so your gas mileage depends alot on how you drive and the driving condition (city driving vs. hwy, etc)

I get 18mpg in the city, and 22 mpg on the highway.
krypto, 16mpg, is it in city or highway? but if it's in the city, I guess that's normal.
I also wonder what can we do to increase mpg. tune up, intake air filter? I know some ppl get 26mpg on highway.

I have been keeping detailed records on my gas mileage since purchasing my SC400 1993. I have an spreadsheet built for this. I do primarily highway driving at about 68-73 MPH with typical curise length of 46 miles one way. Usually setting is overdrive on, ECT POWER on, Trac on. Overdive off will kill my gas mileage per gallon by about 3 MPG on the highway.
My overall mileage per gallon is 23.7 MPG. With the highest being 27.3 (long highway trip) and the lowest being 18.4 (city while on vacation). I use 94 Octane Sunoco or Amoco or Mobil gasoline only. One bottle of pure Chevron Techron is added at the beginning of each month to 1/3 of a tank of gasoline. That's about it.

I was getting about 22MPG before the 60K tune up. I am now getting about 27MPG. I drive mainly on the freeway 50-80MPH for about 35miles each way to work in very little traffic.
tune up consisted of
Plugs (Bosch Platinum +4)
Wires (Accel)
coil , cap , rotor , cleaned injectors , cleaned throttle body
tranny service , flush brake fluid , flush P/S fluid ,
and had the differential serviced
I also only use 93 octane gas. I have no preforance for brands. Shell , Texaco and Cheveron the ones I put in my car.
