Default anyone have experience with wheel repair services?

Hey guys,

I had my tires mounted at Tires Plus over the weekend and they decided to scratch the hell out of the finish on my is350 hyper silver wheels.

They had a mobile wheel repair guy come look at them but I am worried that they won't be the same quality finish if they are redone.

any ideas?

I've had a wheel repaired on my 05 WRX STI. It was the stock aluminum BBS wheel. They were able to get it back to perfect condition, but the only problem was the color was very slightly off. (My rims are gold)

Ya the scratch isnt the hard part to fix its getting the color right. Make sure you get a good shop, actually odds are it will be cheaper just to buy another rim.

i got my hyper sliver rim fixed, big mistake now its grayish. I mean you cant really tell with the brake dust on but if i cleaned it....I'm just going to get some fat aftermarket rims soon. That OEM rim look just isnt "cool."

The first time i had it fixed it came back pure sliver, the second time it came back more grayish. I just gave up on fixing the color since the rims can only fit 225 tires (is300 hyper sliver rims). If you really want it to get fixed make sure you find a shop that does the repair in house, a lot of the rim shops will outsource the fixing of the rim.

Yah. Make THEM pay to have it fixed, if its not right then they buy you a new one. Real simple!
