To the OP... What year 240sx (and mods) are you trading for the SC. This might help us determine if the trade is legit or not. A pix is worth 1000 words. Any pix of the 240?

I had 97 Maxima SE and 03 Maxima SE before SC400 that I have right now...
They are known for burning oil and all kinds of small issues...
97 Maximas are suppose to be most reliable from all generation Maximas however, it had MAF(expensive), Knock sensor, timing chain prob, etc...
03 Maxima is not even worth mentioning...
I really liked Maximas but they have too many issues...
But they are not slow for 4 door sedans..
Anyways, Good luck on your next car-!

I'm a perspective owner of a SC and I want to know, what are some things to look for when checking out a used SC? I searched around, and all I find are just normal wear and tear parts like the PS pump to look for.
How well do the stock clutches on the 5-spds last?

-ps pump leak (if leaking than alt is probaly bad too)
-alternator (alt + psp =$700 fix at the cheapest unless u r a mechanic)
-front lower control arms/suspension (most expensive fix at $1,400 oem parts+labor, oem parts only=$700,)
-Check to make sure timing belt and water pump was changed if over 100k

Speaking of reliability, my big piece of junk's alternator smoked today and left me stranded in the middle of downtown houston traffic sweating my ***** off. Everything was going fine, all of a sudden the battery light came on and smoke started to pour out from under the hood. Had to get my nice shirt all dirty trying to unplug the fried alt so I could drive, and then barely made it home on battery alone.

What is the size of those rims and the tires?
And I believe those are the XXR 962's right?
Look very nice and they are cheap compared to everything else.
Appreciate in advance.
