Pulled the starter in ten minutes now. Took me two hours last time. I didn't even jack up the car. Yea, Quick. Looks like the contacts are worn below the stop level of the soleniod. I called Lexus of Lesington with your part numbers, they were a$$@oles about it. I told them to order them and then said they might get them Monday. So I called Performance Lexus in the Cincinatti and they were real cool. Said they could have them. I'm going to get them Saturday. He said that those parts were the post though and it is actually the inside piece in the solenoid that is worn - it comes off the post but they are separate so we'll see. Otherwise, I will just fabricate something at work. I'll post a how to with pics for other's when they come across this. This is fun now.

Glad that you're on a roll now... make sure you get the L-shaped copper pieces... that's what you need to replace.
Sorry to hear the parts guys were jerks. You should call Lexus and complain.
I fabricated my contacts once... took 4 hours with a bar of copper and I only saved $15. I recommend you just buy 'em.

I took the starter over to some local boys. These backwoods grease monkeys rebuilt the starter for 15$. Plus it has a warranty on it now. We'll see if it works this evening.

Nice job, awj. These other guys paid $500 and you did it for $15. Take yourself and your honey to a NICE dinner and you're still ahead $390.
...and that's why doing your own work RULES.
