Question Slaming an SC and Fender Liners

When I build my Gixxer-Drew Bilstien Coilovers, I'm gonna slam the car when I take it out for special occasions: anniversaries, meets, etc. 600# front 400# rear springs.

Gonna have to preride the route and look for potholes/dips LOL.

Who here has removed the fender liner? Does it need to be there? Do I even need to with around a 3" drop on 245/40/18's since my springs are so stiff? I do have bumpstops.

Feel free to post pics if you have a BIG drop

Where am I supposed to tuck the Harness? Inside the Engine bay? I don't want even MORE clutter in there I've heard of tucking all the harnesses but I'm not sure where exactly it needs to be tucked too lol

its running along the frame rail so if you want just tuck it up a little higher if you dont want to re route to the engine bay. if not, then bye bye harness. just as long as the tire doesnt reach it when the suspension bottoms.

the gixxer-drew build specified that if you plan to drop it for more than 1.5 inch, its not the build for you... its not designed to be slamed

I plan on running it at around a 1" drop 90% of the time, then slamming it every once in a while for looks. That's it.

If you plan on dropping this car any lower than 1.5" you are screwing with the suspension geometry. It has nothing to do with what coilovers you have, you need IKEYA arms no matter what coilovers you have.

That's why I plan on only slamming it 10% of the time.

If you're gonna slam it, lose the liner and tuck the harness. Just about everyone said it, but dont forget the airbag line that runs on the passenger side as well. That will be eaten up if you only tuck the driver side. I wasnt aware the combo you plan to run would drop it THAT much, but if it works it works.

Gunna look SIIIIIIICK my man, I strait up took my liners Out, i daily drive it, and i live in PA. It rains all the time here, no problems yet.

Yes if you are dropping that much you will have to pull them, other wise you will rub over every pebble. what also helps is when you get wheels and low pro tires, for example my stock wheels were 16in with a 60 series tire, My Equips are 18 inch with a 40 series tire stretched. Believe it or not with the equips on, it frees up about an inch and a half of space. So i can lower it that much more.

Stock wheels and Stock ride hight

Stock wheels and Lowered a good 3-4 inch's

As she sits now, with still another inch and a half able to drop in the front

But for the love of god, do a GOOOOOOD tuck job, on BOTH sides, otherwise you will end up with this....

What can i say, i learn by trial and error

Nice rims! I'm running a similar tire size, hopefully it will help.

But yea, Definitely gonna tuck the harness and that Air Bag line on the passenger side. thanks for the info
