Body kit aerodynamics
Which body kits for the SC/Soarer actually aid in aerodynamics and downforce? The Do-Luck and Inspection kits look like they would be good except for a few details. I'd like to lower the coefficient of drag on my SC.

Very few kits are actually designed with the aerodynamics of the car in mind, it's mostly cosmetic, but a few companies investigate the effects on the cd of the car, Veilside for instance. IMO trying to lower the cd of the car is a big waste of time. What are you looking for, the 2 gallons of gas saved over a year, or that extra 4mph in top speed? If you really want to make any difference, you'll have to have a deep chin spoiler to keep the air out from under the car (an underbelly pan would be ideal, but not practical), taped-over headlamp seams, hood seam, taped-over grille opening, side mirrors removed, etc. Feel better now?

That's all been considered. Side mirrors, windshield wipers, headlight seals, underbody paneling, etc.
No way would I go w/ Veilside, though. Ugly as hell. The Do-luck kit does have the low lip (2 piece front end) and other features like the rear that slants up. The rear valance right behind the back wheels looks restrictive and also the side skirts before the rear wheels seem to stick out some.
Going for high speed aerodynamics and stability w/ this car. Does anyone know if the Do-luck kit will actually help in this respect?

If you look at the Veilside rear bumper, it's designed as a much less restrictive replacement for the stocker. Too bad you don't like it, I think it's right at the limit of how wild you can go and still be tastefull. Look at VeilsideRSPsc 's (Brian's) car with the Veilside kit in Royal Sapphire Pearl, and tell me you don't dig it.

Funny, you like the wing, and that's what I dislike. I'm sure that thing can be adjusted for plenty of downforce, the problem is having a place to do repeated runs into the triple digits to test and tune the adjustments on the wing.

Well, generally I don't like the big aluminum wings, It's just that most don't go with the Soarer/SC at all. It seems like wings must be low and have some overhang to look any bit decent.
Wonder how you could go about measuring downforce vs. drag when adjusting a wing like that.
