Default fresh meat, no recipe....

hi, im fairly new to the auto world. i just got my hands on my 93' sc300 last november and the guy i got it off of got the best of me. well long story short, the vehicle is in some bad condition and considering my plan of "restoring an older car once i found one" was already installed in my head, i decided to keep it. the problem i dont know where to go to find a "next to new" engine. money is not really an problem for me so if anyone can point me in the right direction, id be very gratefull. thanks

Wow...try your search man-there's a a**load of information available! There are a number of things you could do...Na-T, 1JZgte, 2JZgte, etc. Is your car a 300 or 400? What are you goals...need to start with that first-this will help you make most of your decisions with your car. Good luck, and welcome! Don't try to do too much at one time, you'll go broke doing this...plus there's so many money saving tips on CL...Keep us posted.

where in PA are you located (just out of curiousity)? If you want to do a complete, back-to-stock restore than you need a 2jz-ge since you have an sc300. If you want to mod this car down the line, and you are doing the motor swap now anyways...go with something boosted for sure (NA-t or 2jz-gte)

where in iraq are you? be careful over there, i know how it can be from one day to the next.

as for your engine, I would just source a low mileage 2j-GE and go na-t, or find a 1j swap..those would be the most cost effective routes you can take imo.
