So far i ordered parts totaling 3400. BMW parts, not fakes. I ran it for a day on my frame machine and fixed the front rail already. That was the only frame messup and it wasnt even broke, just bent. This car is simply put part here, insert tab a into slot b there and it will be done.

I paid $15.6 and i will prolly be done at $20.

bent frame meaning the front rail was bent at the corner over the headlamp.

thats not bad at all conisdering a 98 m3 sells anywhere from 25k to 35 k with low miles... thats a deal... ive always wanted to buy a salvaged car anf fix her up but i dont have so much time and knowledge to do that... maybe when im a senior and take mechanics, ill buy one and use it as a car project.. that would be killer.

the real beauty of the car is that it isnt a salvage title. It is as clean as clean titles come, even carfax is clean. Happy days..

If it were salvage-titled, It'd cost you about $8500-9000 as a dealer, and ultimately about $12000-13000 to fully restore. It would be the same as any other M3 on the road except when it comes time to sell. People cringe at the words "salvage title". It's the scarlet letter of the industry. The best salvage titles to work on are theft recoveries, light collisions, and non-engine fires. A car that's been firebombed by a gang is very cheap and easy to fix.

The real beauty of salvaged title luxury cars, is that 9 times out of ten there is very light damage. Rich people will cash in on insurance poilcies in a heartbeat. They get in a minor fender bender and they trade in their 2000 model for a brand new 2002 model. They especially hate having to wait a month for their car to come out of the autobody shop. That's how you cash in.

My buddy bought a junk title 2001 Durango that got hit by a train and rolled over 300 feet down a hill. The car ended up something like 2000 feet from the road. It was an awful site sitting in his shop, the driver door was pressed into the engine block and it no longer ressembled an automobile.
