got in my first crash
today on my way home from school in the pouring rain, a senior in my high school started to pull out of a gas station through a line of cars on a 2 lane road. i was driving in the left lane, on the left side of all the cars. someone in a car in line waved to him telling him he was clear to pull out. when i saw him i was about 20 yards from him and i slammed on the brakes but the rain made everything worse. i slid into his door shattering his drivers side windshield and pushing his pontiac sunfire a good amount. his drivers side door was severely dented and pushed in. i was going about 25 when i hit him. the only damage on my car is scratches and my three lights on the left are a little out of place.
i guess im lucky. and if i had my license plate on it would have made it worse

yep this happens to all of us.
Dont make assumations you dont know. Maybe the headlights are pushed in or maybe because that support underneath is damaged, the bumper cover is the part thats actually messed up.

I would help you remove the bumper but i live on the west coast now.
Also a word of advice, make sure you figure out the right story to tell the insurance company. This isnt a simple rear end open and shut case. What i don't get is how are both of your driver sides damaged? Also the fact that you hit him doesnt look good in your case. The weather being bad isn't a saving grace. Some states have laws were its like 50 percent your fault and 50 percent weather. Others say you should also be able to keep control of your car no matter what the weather condition is. I am not an attorney but i have had a good bit of experience talking to insurance agents and even the slightest detail matters. If you could clear up your story i might be able to help you. Like i said this isnt necessarily an open and shut case were he is at fault.
Also i would hope you have a police report (preferably stating he is "at fault") and his insurance info.
