I'm a firm believer in having the cash ready before buying a car. Anytime you lease something like a brand new LS, you're going to eventually regret it, at least I know I would. I would save for a good while so you can just pay the whole thing with one check, but don't make yourself broke in the process. Remember no matter how badass it is, it's still just a car.

well i will never lease a car for one. its a waste of time to me. anoyther thing on buying a house, thought about it but i wont be in one spot long enough. ill be moving every year. my wife doesnt want to buy a house yet either cause we might want to stay here in fresno in the end but what if we enjoy somewhere else. i wont ever be able to live in it for more than a week at a time. not worth it at this point. investing stock markets is the last thing i would do with the way the economy is right now. to me thats like leaving money on my doorstep and hoping its there tomorrow. its for some of us but im not gonna risk it. i factored a lot of things in but only time will tell if i fall out of wanting the ls. i love my sc but im falling out of that also over the 3 years ive had it. i love it but sometimes i dont know. i dont have time for it. laws are strict like i said and ill be working more later down the road to want to go out to a track or whatever. i want soemthing i can get in and just go. idk. im leaning towards the ls. i love the car and im sure down the road they will reduce in price and i should have a nice chunk of money saved.

How? When all your payments are going toward the car.

Even if you dont want to buy a house now at least save the money so when you do want to settle down you will have a nice down payment. i just cant see how wasting 80k right now is a good move.

1. your money your ultimate decision
2. Paying ~1K/mo for a car will get old quick
3. You have no bills now but plan for the future

I am not debating if you can afford it or not. I agree with you that it is your business and we should not be debating that. My input that I can add to the conversation is that it will get tiring quick to pay a large amount of money for something over time. I bought my wife a Yukon XL 4.5 years ago and so tired of making the payment - only 6 more left!!! It is not a matter of all the other bills, I have plently left over to play with my other cars, it is the fact that I hate spending that amount for a vehicle.

If you want to be a baller on a budget, why spend 80k on an LS when there are many on the used market in the 50s?

Don't spend $90,000 on a LS at 22. There are better things to be done at that age if you can stack chips than buying a car for a retiree.

I've aylways wanted a big body sedan VIPd out and I was seriously consider getting a LS430. You could get a 2004 with the revised styling, a nice body kit, and some wheels and still only be spending a 3rd of the LS460 which won't be worth $50,000 in 3 years.

This thread really makes no sense what so ever. You say you wanna keep your SC and build it down the road but want a baller LS460L down the road also. This thread is like comparing apples and oranges. You can't ask people their opinion on 2 different types of vehicles. Do you want performance or sheer bling factor?

Since you are still in training nothing is set in stone with your job. Things change all the time. You want to put a 25K down payment on a 87K car. The car will depreciate in value. By the time you want to get rid of it how much will it be worth? If that isn't the most backwards investment by todays standards I don't know what is. Unless you plan on keeping the LS for a very long time it's a horrible decision. You would be better off modding the SC over time. Being young with a lot of money has it's drawbacks. You'll be quick to spend it on dumb stuff that you will regret in the long run.
