Gonna check and take pics just to help others who might have the same head unit. I want to grab the Eclipse double din, yet leave everything else stock. (man i wish my changer worked.. You know how long it takes to transfer your favorite CD to cassette?) lmao.

Take picsf of the back of the HU and all the plugs going into it (the harness itself) - maybe we can figure out if it works.

I used the Metra install kit thread today, and it worked out great!

Only thing I suggest is using a high speed air cut off wheel instead of the dremel.

I'll finish the wiring tomorrow using the other how to.

Dremel works just fine with the heavy duty cutoff wheel

i performed this swap just recently and i went with a single din. i would advise to check the factory amp before attempting anything first to see how many plugs go in to it. mine only had one plug instead of two. the solution was to wire the aftermarket head unit speakers wires to each speaker. it was a pain in the *** but it sounds great!!

Well, I'm done. The stereo sounds fantastic! Much better than the stock unit.

I will miss the tape player...

any chance of a photo of the amp (plug side)? I was always under the impression that all the Pioneer setups were fairly similar
