I've talked to a few Mustang guys and they tell me they wouldn't even consider boosting the Ford engines, with any amount of miles on them, without a rebuild first. They always look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them the mileage on mine.
I'm sure there are some, but I've also seen plenty of boosted five-liters with over 150K on them, and 2.3T's with over 200k with 20+ psi put through them on a regular basis. I was a Mustang guy for the last seven years so I've seen a lot of stuff.
I'm pretty reluctant to boost my 1UZ with 210K and dubious maintenance records, but I'd like to do a 1.5UZ (4.7 internals) before boost so it'll be pretty fresh by the time boost comes around.
