Well I had zero luck with this question in the maintenance forum, but I'm sure someone here will be able to answer it. My alternator went out and I am looking to replace it with a Denso, but the site I found has two different options for the plug in the back, but they claim both work... I don't see how they would both work when they are THAT different looking. I put red circles around the two plug spots. The question here is which would be the one to get for my '95 SC400? Thanks everyone. Oh yeah and I am unable to remove it for a while to check myself, just want to order the right one and do it all at once.

You need Denso part number 210-0173. That is the only one for the 95 SC400. I hope that helps. Which should be the oval plug design. On your picture it is the one on the left.

....and for the 1992 SC400, it's the one on the right, so the design must have changed in 94 or 95.

the oval plug is also used by the supra TT, while the aristo and 1jz use a circle plug

I know you can buy any of the 2, and swap the plugs from your current alternator. How munch they charging you? I have an extra alternator....
