Also w/hoods that we see in this thread..the air scoop one, and the others...

Damn, you live in Alaska AND Hawaii??? The cheapest AND the most expensive states in the Union Not a lot of people that do that... Commute must suck, haha.
Anthracite, usually people with hood scoops use it as an air intake of some sort, therefore there are plenty of layers worth of filtration before it reaches the intake manifold. And the duct is sealed and isolated from the engince compartment so as to prevent water damage/short circuiting.
As for the hood with cowl-type vents, well all you have is a wire mesh to prevent leaves, rocks, and squirrels from crawling into your engine bay, but in a torrential downpour you will encounter flooding problems. Usually these types of hoods are made for proper use with the air intake, and are used instead of a scoop 'cause scoops screw with coefficient of drag and top speeds. In our case these hoods don't do anything for our cars except maybe ventilate some hot air from the hood.

Aight, I can't translate the technical terms but the hood is called Glass Ray "FRP".
and I searched around about Glass Ray and I found this site. of course, it's in Japanese

deffinately keep us posted i would love one of those hoods......would want this post to keep going like that indiglo gauge post........and does any have pricing on the MYTHOS KIT..??? otherwise im going to e mail the guy at supra store and see if he can get it for me....thanks guys
