To all you people who i said overpayed for their SCs

I picked up my '91 soarer (1jz at) for $700 2 years ago which was a bit on the high side, 3 months later you couldn't touch them for under $1500... not really sure what happened to the market then. But having paid $1800 at one point for another Soarer seems it was a bit to pay when all things are put in perspective.
Anyways is 3-4K the average price for a SC stateside these days?

I'd take it over a boring *** stock SC any day... I just posted to get a ride out of him, but it seems he's too stupid even for that.

$7k for my 92 with 52K miles, one owner and all Dealer maintained. Only thing was very minor cosmetic which ain't boo to me since i'm connected with paint and body guys. For a car with that low of miles well documented it was worth it- good luck finding another one with that mileage.
This was May of this year.

Test drove it once, started it twice. First time was when i went to see the car like a week ago. Started fine, drove fine. Second time was last night before i purchased it. I had my brother start the car so i could check the tranny fluid. Worked perfectly. Then after we bought it, it wouldnt start but after cranking it like 4 times it started. Once it was on it was perfect. And now its sitting here with that starting problem. I'm like almost 100 percent sure its the starter. And of course i plan to do my work. Changing a stater, thats nothing. I just need to figure out where it is first.
Starter replacement will mean removal of the plenum, and if you hear the starter engaging and spinning but no crank means a flat spot on your flexplate. Maybe the PO ran something over.
Tranny has to come out for that.
either fix means $1k or more. Expensive....

this is my favorite thread of the week............
clear 1 thing up for us please. you keep saying things like "i got a good deal" or "my car..." etc... then in another post you say "my brothers car..." i'm confused. Do you get to post pics of your brothers car and call it yours on car forums as a reward for fixing all his problems on his "deal of the year" SC..........????

And yes, I don't want to tell you why your car wont start, especially when it's cold out and the car has been sitting for a few hours. And let me guess, once you get it to start, you turn it off and on and it starts as if there was nothing wrong
I'll give you some advise, if the engine cranks like it should, it's not the starter.
Look foward to reading more of your posts
