Default SC 3/4 Engine bay

Hey Gang,

Is there any different between SC300 and SC400 engine bay? Would a 2JZGTE fit into a SC400? What about Tranny? Is it the same as 300 and 400?

thanks

david

The engine bays are essentially the same except for the placement of a few fluid tanks and some hoses. The auto trannies are the same up to 1997. The GTE will fit in an SC400, but I'm not sure about using the same mounting brackets?

You've been talking to my ex-wife again haven't you!!!!!!
If I was going to do that, I would have got a GS 400.
I don't think there ever going to make something that will make these cars quick. Had a couple of conversations wth one of my old NOS tech friends. He's telling me I can spray up to 125-140 horse without any problems. Looks like trans shifting could be the only drawback. Looks like time to find a toy.

Speaking of NOS, there's a nut in the Corvette Forums who's regularly pumping a 600 shot into his stock C5. I've never heard of that much f#cking NOS injected at once! Ins't that instant engine death, even for an LS-6 block???

Yeah, I'm over there too a lot. Think it's BS myself. Even with a two stage set-up, wet kit, even progressive controller, I don't think it's possible. Do they even make an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for the LS motor yet. When I had my Ram Air, there wasn't one availabe. Can't imagine how much fuel pressure you would need to compensate for that much spray. With the compression ratio of that motor...
Just don't think it's possible. Talk about traction issues. I used to spray 250 with a progressive controller and still spun through 3 gears. Any comments Lex, or we just going to talk about my genetal area. Had to show me the interior pic of the T-type didn't you.
That's not fair. Still would love to have one of those!!!!!!

lol, Shane, don't give up brother! You already have the toy, i've been talking to a couple guys working on developing a turbo kit for our SC4, at this point i'm starting to feel that it WILL happen. A 450rwhp kit would get us that 11.99 we neeed (for starters). Be patient a bit more, if it doesn't work out, we can both pick up SC3's to turbo. Oh, and what's for dinner tonight, Armadillo steaks?

Actually, having italian. Got another little one on the way. Be here end of June. Wife is cooking up a storm These extra ten pounds I've put on are making my car even slower!!!! Turbo huh?? By that time my bottom end will probably need a rebuild anyway. Wonder what it's going to cost for a new long block for the 4.0??? What's the compression ratio on our motor anyway??
I'm assuming minimum 9.5 :1?? How many pounds of boost we talking here??? Isn't going to be cheap!!! Ley me know. You know I'm in "Partner". Man we get a bad rap here in Texas!!

Shane, that's the inside of the Silver and Black one, it had that tacky plastic wood, but who cares when I could get the left front wheel off the ground on that one on a 275-50D Quick Time, on the street! The converter was the size of one of those little appetizer plates, hehe, must've been like an 8 or 9" unit. No way anyone is spraying a 600shot on a stock LS6, and if he was, he wouldn't be telling anyone, he'd be out making tons of cash with the car.

92-95 is 10.3:1 , 96-97 is 10.4:1 , 98-2K is 10.2:1 . Am I a f@ckin' prodigy or what? A bun in the oven, congrats! Awesome bro, another member for the pit crew Your bottom end is silly strong, don't sweat the rebuild. On stock head gaskets, probably .75bar max, with head gaskets, enough atmosphere to waste our nitrous'd F-bodies with eaase. As far as cost, it shouldn't be out of control, plus a basic kit for the V8 could be 400+ hp nooo problem. If you reeaallly need convincing, PM me and i'll tell you a secret....
