Unfortunately this is NOT an original 97 - 5spd. It's a swap. Additionally, the car can ONLY be registered as a NON-OP (in California) because of Check Engine light and other additional issues the owner disclosed. Body in good shape. Did not drive car, so can't speak on mechanical conditions in full, but it did start up right away on first key turn, and saw no signs of smoke coming out of the pipes. Owner seems like very nice guy. All in all... seems like something to get into if you like turning a wrench... car doesn't seem to have a long way to go before it gets to the "daily driver" stage.

Here is a table I lifted from Wikipedia that can be informative . Looks like this info is based on Calendar Year. The annotations in blue are references from which the editors lifted the numbers. Looks like they have lumped the 1991 production with the 1992 that is why the number of production is a lot bigger than sales and technically the Lexus SC model started in 1992. So is the 120 number only for the 1997 calendar year manufactured vehicles ? I still don't know ! Hope one day we will find a more credible source and will find out .

It was partially converted to GTE + PHR single kit + V160 + 220mm diff. So mechanically it doesn't run because it was an abandoned unfinished project. But generally speaking its mechanically fine, just needs to be finished up.
