Guage cluster lighting

What causes the amber lighting on the speedometer and tach? I've taken the guage panel apart, and the plastic backplate and bulbs both look clear (white). I shined a light through the back of the plate to make sure.
Do the bulbs glow amber, or what? What did I miss?

Not sure what you're getting at but I do know that you can make your pod brighter like the 97+ by changing to the bulbs from that year. It will cost you about $110 out the door.

yeah all you need to do is change the bulbs.. you do not need to change the whole cluster.. the only thing that is really hard to change is the red needle... but make sure you get the bulbs for the entire cluster (oil, etc..)
