So These SC's are some porky bastards. I came from a S14 that weighed 2810 after a full roll cage, so these things are whales for me.
What is the fastest/cheapest way to save weight on these cars? I will be replacing the drivers seat and seat belt with a Bride/Takata combo, as well as the SRS Airbag wheel with a Nardi and quick release. But what else can be easily ditched or swapped for lighter stuff.
Also, what is the absolute BEST fitting carbon fiber hood available for these cars? OEM style preferred.

I searched for 'weight' in the title of threads in the SC forum and have the following threads that should be helpful (among many others)

Here are Free ways to shave weight:
1. Detar the whole car Shave like 30-50 lb's out.
2. Ditch all audio system. Aka amp, changer, sub, headunit
3. Remove rear seats
4. Delete A/C ( Pump, condenser, etc)
5. dump spare tire if need be
6. if you don't have the spare tire.. you don't need the jack or the tire iron... that can go too.
7. Don't carry a passenger? well ditch that seat too..![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
the areas that can really save weight with replacing is the seats, the hood.. and majorly.. the doors.. the doors are extremely heavy. Carbon trunk would help also.
you can always take out the old gas tank and swap in a fuel cell..
( I came from 240sx's also and a rx7)

The guys in Australia are soon gonna have the option of buying fibreglass boot lids (saves about 17kg). Really depends how far you want to go. Strip the entire interior minus the dash and steering wheel, carbon fibre doors, boot lid and bonnet.
