**Cash for your Clunker SC......?**
#32
Fixed it for ya. Far be it for me to start a political rant on clublexus, but I hate the cash for clunkers program! What a slap in the face waste of money and resources. If you're going to waste my tax money, as well as my childrens, at least regenerate money or "stimulate" the economy by reselling the "clunkers". This was designed by a bunch of ****** that see automobiles as nothing more than a point a, to point b machine and want emissions testing in every state. I'll stop typing this before I get labeled a "liberal conservative mob", but I'm really upset with some of the nice machines going to waste. 1/20/2013 can't come soon enough if you ask me...
The biggest thing with Obama is he's gonna have to hear about this program until he dies. He's young enough to have to be criticized till he goes deaf.
They advertise the clunkers program as a success but only if you consider success as having the Gubmint buy your car for you. The market is still dead, it's just the tax dollars keeping it on life support. Just as the housing industry is being artifically inflated by forcing banks to lend.
It's just sickening the total waste- especially that 102K SC that could've gone to someone who needed cheap wheels and couldn't afford a payment.

If those a$$holes wanted to do it right they should've allowed the cars to be traded and resold for profit by the dealers instead of totaling them out.
Dealers selling used cars at zero cost could've made a killing on profits without having to take the risk of flooring inventory, possibly not getting paid by uncle sam, on and on. However this administration is so f'd up they think by giving the manufacturers a few good days that will fix them.
The sales will last as long as the Gubmint is willing to pay for part of the tab. When that spigot shuts off, that's it. A few good days and it's right back to losing money..
(incidentally, the ones that do well- Toyota and whatnot) the ones who don't need the help are selling the most and GM and chrysler are still struggling-
and they will continue to struggle until they get their legacy costs and Union costs inline with the other manufacturers that don't have those problems to deal with.
Manufacturers in the USA typically only make money when they sell the financing. The cars are sold at a loss - that's why they had to axe all those dealers. If everyone loses on a car sale, why sell the car?
Can't raise profits unless you raise prices. How are you gonna raise prices if you have to use silly incentives like this, wild rebates, on and on just to sell the thing?
You can't. This plan will not work, and there's a good chance all that's gonna happen is a huge amount of repo's in the next year or so. If this economy keeps up that's what's next.
**** on this administration and their meddling with the economy, as well as trying to influence what we drive.
Mark my words, someday in the future we'll probably wind up getting taxed on engine displacement, age and HP - like in Socialist countries, or the taxes will be so high what is $30K today will be $70K because it's not eco-friendly.
Be prepared, it's coming up. Y'all need to get pissed becayse we are about to be singled out even worse for driving "wasteful" cars- they will punish us with huge taxes because this current attempt will fail. They will need more cash, and that's what's gonna happen next.
As if we don't pay enough in gas, licensing, luxury taxes, etc. etc.

Too much ****ing TV and unfortunately "caring" is in fashion. The sheeple want to be like what they tell them to be like on TV. Pop science, being "different" - LOL.
That's why you have all this nannying over things. Don't do this, don't do that, think of mother earth all that Liberal fashionable nonsense.
The Kool Aid drinkers are everywhere. This day and age is enough proof you can "care" too much. We're at the point in this society where individualism is going by the wayside for the sake of Political Correctness.
I just want to be left the hell alone, to live the way I want to. I don't want Government healthcare, paying taxes to take care of *****bags who don't take care of themselves, being taxed and being called a thief for making more than the average American and most certainly I don't want to live Obama's dream of an over-moderated, PC, ghey, low-carb, car hating, eco-friendly Utopia where everyone thinks and acts the same.
We are turning into Sweden.

Wellllllllll... letsee.
You're 15 now, so by 2012, depending on which month you were born in, you will be able to vote for the next idiot-in-office by Nov. 2012.
Of course, 2013 wont matter since according to the Mayans the world ends on Dec. 21st 2012, so I guess you're vote won't count for much.

for the first time in my entire life am I truly afraid of where this country is going. We can all expect new taxes on a local, state and Federal level to pay for all this.
It has to be paid for somehow - we're already in the hole. Average Obama supporter (besides not making anything so therefore has nothing to lose) doesn't realize it or care.
Greedy.
