But you can compare that with knock offs. The price is for those that can afford it, for those that cant well they dont get a kit do they. So the target market is not effected. If people have the money they will go genuine again and again be it for quality, genuine fitment or genuine snob status. So those that cant afford a genuine item dont really affect the original manufacturer. Its their own profit margins that lead to this. The materials to make a genuine kit would be stuff all. However saying that i buy genuine however i always consider what is reasonable and what isnt. For us in Australia a genuine AC kit is $4,750 USD which is insane, if the genuine item was sold for $1200 USD id buy it in a second. As a result to my understanding there is only one car in Australia running an AC kit.

That's all well and good that someone is making a knock off kit for people who can't afford the real thing. But my whole problem with the knock off kit is that the sides and rear look nothing like the real Auto Couture kit. I'd much rather save the money and purchase the real kit. Although I do see something that might come from this. A member on the board rendered up a custom kit based off of the AC kit not to long ago. I've always been interested in fiberglass work so maybe I'll pick up a front bumper and work on that.

its true both pics show different kits.if i see it on someones car on this forum or in person.and it looks good i would get it.im not a baller to buy the real one.and fibergless is fibergless.i was told once that the real AC kit is fiberglass.so why pay more for it.plus the day you mess up your front bumper or get into a wreck.they both gonna get messed up.the knock-off is just cheaper to replace.
