Question Auto to Manual Swap = no Cruise Control

I tried searching. I guess I suck because I know the answer must be out there.

I swapped a W58 into my formerly automatic 95 SC300.

My cruise light comes on, but won't engage. The little goodie under the dash is hooked up as well as the servo motor cable and electrical plug.

$1100 shipped. SC300 pedals, driveshaft, tranny, master cylinder, slave cylinder, console piece with shift boot etc. I did have to custom bend my own hard line, but that was cheap. Not included in price were new seals and clutch set.

I'm pretty sure I figured it out. I had a big DUHHHHH moment. I connected the PRNDL switch with it in the Park position so the neutral safety switch would allow the car to start. I'm guessing the cruise is smart enough to not engage when the car is in Park.

Also check toyo d i y dot com and see if the part numbers between the 5spd and auto are the same for cruise control stuff. Dont quote me on this but you might need the m/t ecu.
Yeah, I tried in 5th and I'm 100% sure I don't need the 5spd ECU. Going from manual to auto does require the auto ECU though - but who does that?

No, if you were to go from manual to auto, you'd need an auto ECU. I can't see anyone doing that.

Correct and yes, I'm still running the auto rear end. I need to GPS the car to check for accuracy, but I don't notice a difference.

BTW, LOVE the 5 speed! It's awesome to be able to launch the car, run it to redline, bark the tires into second while the BOV whistles, and not have to worry about the annoying 1-2 shift backfire the auto did at full boost. It's just so much more fun to drive now!

sounds like fun man i am trying to peice together an R154 just dont want to get an hickups after i do the swap. do you drive on the highway much ? I heard that by using the auto rear end on a manual swap the gearing is very short and you end up running higher rpms in 5th gear than if u would have a manual rear end. Do you notice anything like that

I have not made it to the highway yet. I decided not to go R154 until I blow up the (if I blow up) the W58. I don't plan on going over 400 horse.
