My car needs both parts you mentioned (motor mounts, bushings) and that *could be* the problem. Just had 4 new tires mounted/balanced on my 19's today and it made a little difference in the shaking, but those two parts need to be looked at.

^^^ How sure are you that is the problem have you talked to this guy before? You said you needed the parts ,but they haven't been installed so no problem has been fixed. When does the shaking happen cause that is a generic statement. What are you doing speed, turning, braking, accelerating, driving on a bent rim. Bad bushings on the front suspension can possibly effect the steering wheel. When, where, how, and why did it happen is what I am looking for.

Broken belt inside the tire could also cause severe vibration....look for disformation of the tire....wave or a hump, or even a flat spot if the brakes have been locked up hard before..

Get it road force balanced just to make sure wheels are balanced.

I'm having a shaking problem also but only when the brake is being applied. I already resurfaced my rotors n changed the pads. Shaking occurs in the steering wheel and shifter too. Could it be the abs?

That might be the tires slight out of round possibly. Worn bushings in the front end somewhere..worn rack bushings.

There are so many things it could be... Warped, bent, rim, out of balance, rack and pinion, rack and pinion bushings, tie rods, upper and lower control arm bushings, or ball joints, wheel bearings, and maybe a locking up caliper.. Check all of these for wear or cracks.. Good luck and keep us posted.

It is one of the most accurate ways of balancing a wheel and tire. You put the wheel on the balancer, and then a roller goes up on it and applies the amount of force that your car would be putting on that tire if it was driving down the road, hence road force.
