Default R154 Noise

I've been told these can be noisy transmissions, but this just doesn't seem right. When cold its dead quite, when warmed up at idle speeds I hear a "clack a lack" type noise that is RPM dependent and tends to go away as the rpms come off idle.

I just recently did a swap to the R154 and when doing that installed new a pilot, throwout, etc (all oem). The trans also makes a pretty nasty noise RIGHT at 2000 rpm, not before, not after. My guess is the input shaft bearing, but wouldn't it do it all the time then?

If I press the clutch pedal down, no noise (obviously because the trans isn't spinning) and if i put some pressure into a gear while stationary (leaning on the syncrho) the noise will quite as well...

help!

I figured that....but looking for more what might be the cause of the noise. No sense in doing a rebuild it its the actual gears just being worn out.
