I got it b/c its sport/luxury, reliable, cheap to buy, & has a timeless body style in my opinion(People always ask what year my car is)....not to mention super rare to see here in NY

I'm filipino and I owned a 240sx before my sc300. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Haha but honestly though the car to me just seemed an upgrade to the 240 in every way possible.

I just saw a good looking Toyota with decent miles and a price that was unbelievable. At the time i had an '84 dodge i was fixing up and was planning on keeping the Lexus stock (except for the ugly rims). When i got into doing research and saw the potential of this car, I sold the truck at a loss and used the $ for the Lexus.

I wanted one since I worked for the Lexus dealer. I use to watch them be delivered brand new! When I found that the price had dropped to the level it is now I jumped on one. It needs some TLC. but I wouldn't trade it for any other car.

I voted I6 with potential but in reality its all the the options you have listed for me. the other option would be the fact I only paid 300 for my 93 SC300

Where I grew up you was doing things if you had a Legend or a ES300/ GS300 and really Willie if you had a LS or Q. When the SC dropped. It had the hood on smash. You didn't see too many of them come through but when they did come through everyone would stop and stare at the spaceship.

Now a days you see people getting old school cars from their past, so this is my old school.

Next is the E31 850.

Well in 1999 when it was time to look for a car. I had four RWD on my list. 240sx, 300zxTwin Turbo, Supra Twin Turbo & 97 SC300 Diamond White Pearl with 5 Speed.
240sx (Not enough Power)
300zxTwin Turbo (I did not like the interior & Not a Sleeper)
Supra Twin Turbo (I liked everything about it & Not a Sleeper)
97 SC300 (I liked everything about it & could not find a 97 Diamond White Pearl with 5 Speed)
SCxxx Design to me is Timeless
After doing a lot of Research. I found out about (Toyomoto & F-Max) I was now sold on the SC300. With a little more Research I found out that most of the Parts from the Supra TT could bolt onto the SC300. It was now Game over for the Supra TT. This was in 1999 before The Fast and the Furious. So the Supra TT and the 97 SC300 were around the same price. So my list was now shorten. Just get a 97 Diamond White Pearl forget about the 5 Speed because a 2jzgte 6 Speed is on the way in the near future.
I always wanted a SLEEPER / Project Car. Something that You can go anywhere, park anywhere and not bring a lot of attention to yourself. I have found that in the SCxxx. Most parts from the Supra TT bolt onto the SCxxx. You got to LOVE that.

I got my 92 bacause it was a good deal, I was going to take my GS to the body shop and I thought it would make a good project. A year later I bought my 97 mainly cus it was a good deal, it's a 5spd and it's a hardtop. Kinda no brainer on the 97SC, lol...
