I purchased my SC300 really because when fixed up it looks better than a Supra, especially the front end.

My Honda got jacked and found stripped. I swore that when not if my civic gets stolen that I was never going to return to Honda again.

An actually affordable and lovely looking Lexus;
Tasteful & Timeless-trimmed I thought, as I sat sagging in a stinky Saturn's seat, see'ng two SC's across the street..

+1 on this, the feel of the car is awsome and the style is timeless, 10 years from now it will still look great!

I was originally after either a 300ZX with VG30DETT or an R33 with RB25DET. Then I test drove a Soarer with the 1JZGTE and that was the end of looking for an Z32/R33.

I had a 97 240 with SR that was fun but I wanted a more mature car and the SC300 was the obvious choice. I was well aware of it's potential because it shared a lot with the Supra. I could buy a supra if I sell the SC but I love the sleeper laid back status of the SC too much.

I was once a honda boy at heart had a 98 accord decked out but got tired of the school kid car and wanted something else. Just so happen to go to the dealer even before I sold my ride and saw a black on black sc300 that was in immaculate condition. Test drove it and fell in love with the butter smooth ride. Till this day I havent rode in many cars as smooth as the sc.

I voted other becuase there were a number of different factors in my decision...

I always kind of new about the SC, with it being a RWD "luxury sport coupe" but I had never given it the time of day compaired to other cars growing up. During my freshman year of college I really toyed with the idea of getting a project car (my roommate was building an ls1 240sx so I got the bug from him).

I spent many hours scouring ebay, criagslist, autotrader, etc looking for a stock unmolested 240...a very hard task. I put the car search on hold when I decided to take a trip to NZ with my brother for the summer. While there, in the town we stayed in there was this one house in particular with two BEAUTIFUL soarers parked outside. Everytime we drove by I caught myself stairing at them in awe...but I never made it connect with my car search for some reason.

I came back to the states and after doing some research found that the SC was still a rare find in a 5spd (a must for whatever car I was going to get). I kept the search up for a nice s14 but still couldn't pinpoint one that I wanted...

My father then sent me an ad for a 5spd SC300 in NJ. It was owned by an older woman (wife of a wall street investor) who had passed and thus given it to her brother. The brother loved the car but couldn't justify driving it often since it was a 5spd and he was an older gentleman. We didn't know what we were getting into since there were no photos of the car online, but we took a shot. I went up with my dad and after seeing the car and driving it around the block it was clear that this was the car for me to buy! It was a beauty with under 100,000mi and an immacualte interior (just ask JDMmuscle or OBEEWON).

So, my car kind of fell into my lap and I couldn't be happier. Everyone and their mother has a 240 now, and most are on jackstands in a garage somewhere looking like crap. I've got a the SC and I will never look back!

There should be an "all of the above" choice.

I bought mine so I could have 3 parking slots for my townhouse, my neighbor included her slot with the car so it was definitely a no brainer. I'm serious, and then I found this site and all hell broke loose modding it
