Default Toyomoto turbo kit

Hey,

What size turbo comes w/ the toyomoto basic 6000$ kit? Also does anyone have all the other specs on the kit, injector size ect...

And will my stock transmission be able to hold that much power?
Also around how much HP will I go up 2?

what about a vane pressure converter, turbo timer, boost and fuel controller, egt, a/f, oil pressure, regulator, pump and filter?

700$ roughly. I'm asking for a fmic. Then there is the exhaust. Bigger piping is needed for back pressure concerns I believe.

nevermind - i guess the afc will take up some of that and i didn't notice the upgraded fuel pump. so that takes off about 2-300$

The stage I (340 RWHP) will give you approximately 400hp at the flywheel. The stage II will give you 400 RWHP (500 hp). You are lucky that you have a pre 98' 2JZ-GE, they are much easier to work on, due to OBI ( and no VVT-I). Also like you mentioned those kits can be sent out to people where as the 98+ kits can only be installed on location. How much power can the stock automatic transmission handle?

Let's find out. It can definitely handle stage 1.5.

Yeah stage 1.5 would be about right. I know the supra tranny can handle about 460hp before upgrades are needed.

400-450hp for the Lexus automatic, but chances are you'll pop the converter before that.

Oh and does the Supra TT's LSD and gearing help with that?

Pop the convertor? How does that happen?

Also I was reading up on some supra, and it said that a aftermarket TC had to be installed to handle more power. but what does a TC have to do with handling power?

Jason, ever seen a converter balloon? There's plenty that can fail on a converter, the stator assy, the case itself, etc. The Supra and Lexus automatics are basically the same, the valve body is calibrated differently, and the converters ARE different, the Lexus unit is weaker. A converter won't affect the power handling of the entire unit, just the converter itself, if anything it can generate additional heat within the trans as you stage and bring the converter to it's stall rpm and hold it there for a bit while you wait to launch. Add an aux trans cooler, converter or no converter, if you add any hp to the car, heat is the biggest enemy of a transmission, other than hp, hehe. JAC JZS, the only way the Supra LSD will affect the durability of the trans is when the driveline sees additional traction from the differential and puts a greater strain on the transmission as the car tries to move forward.

The Stage 1 should give a good bit more than 340rwhp. If you tune it a bit more and run more boost like CompWiz did; I'm sure you can run up to 400rwhp

the Stage 1.5 kit has a T60-1 turbocharger; its a T-series garret, not a T04E
the Stage 1.5 will also net around 380-400rwhp just bolted on; if you run the boost up to 10-12psi on stock compression you're looking at 430-450rwhp
on lowered compression with a headgasket (8.5:1), you can run around 15-18psi... this allows for around 450-500rwhp depending on how high you go
and the only thing limiting you is the fuel; get a bigger fuel pump, and tune in some bigger injectors with an AFC; you can prolly run 18-21psi on that turbo; which would net around 525-530rwhp

this is all pump gas and no alcohol injection of course throwing an AEM ECU on would net prolly around 20rwhp more and allow you to run much bigger injectors.

the Stage 1.5 is the better deal to get IMO because you start at a higher level and are only a few steps away from major major power

Bean, the numbers I gave are straight from Danny at Toyomoto. Those ARE the OFFICIAL Toyomoto #'s on what kind of hp & RWHP their kits will yield Of coarse if you crank up boost or do other mods hp will increase further, as with most mods.
