I've tried to install a new antenna mast but the plastic cable inside keeps coming off as the antenna motor brings it in. I've tried to install two new antenna masts and the entire cable came right out both times.

I let someone turn off the radio as I guided the cable to the antenna motor until it took hold. Once it took hold, it took the whole cable out from the antenna.

Am I doing something wrong? Is my antenna motor too strong? Or were both masts defective or just cheaply made?
