Tavarish: your DIY wheel is a 100X better than the one i am thinking of in particular... i won't name any names... It seems you inspired a bunch to think out of the box on this one... good job.

BTW... off topic, was your GLE maxima in your sig a 5 spd. swap? i thought only the SE's came in 5 spd.
Thanks, and yes, it was a 5spd swap. I also did a 3.5 in it before selling it.

Are you talking about the one that looks like a botched c-section?

Don't hate.

jk.

I bought it for 95 cents at Advance auto parts, I figured while I prep the car for paint, I'll be dirty and will have to get in/out of it, so i installed the cover for the time being so it can get dirty instead of my seats.

I havent been out in public with it, nor do I plan on it, lol

For 50 more dollars you could get a near mint Supra wheel, WITH an airbag and cruise control controls. It's smaller diameter, fatter grip, and a direct bolt on.

Sorry but that's too ghetto-fab for my taste.

This is direct bolt on, has radio controls, is smaller diameter, and looks better than a Supra wheel. Not to mention it's 10/10 condition and it was 35 bucks. I took out the cruise because I don't need it.

I'm not pretending there's an airbag in there, I'm not trying to fool anyone. I'm saying I don't need one because I'll have a 4 point harness.

Could be ghetto fab, but it looks decent in my opinion, better than any supra wheel, barring the 2000 dollar TRD wheel.

I see. So this must be a track car or something. It's not your DD or anything close.

I tried street driving with a 4 point harness for about 2 days once. It gets embarrassing when you try to reach for a soda at the drive-thru and you can't. Or try to grab something off other seat and you swing at air or worse when paper work starts flying out the passenger side window and you can't do a damn thing about it because you can't move.

Not to mention schroths are the one and only brand of 4 point harness that's DOT legal tmk and you're asking to get stopped or get a ticket everytime you drive unless you have one.
