Default Where to put the gauges...

I am looking around and trying to find a good place to put my 60mm gaugues. I am trying to put them in a place where I will be able to see them and where they are not noticable to the outside world. I do not want them on the A-pillar and I do not want them in the glove box.

I have thought about: (TTC from suprforums)

Any other thoughts and pictures?

My other thought is to take out the stock gauges and redo the entire cluster. Make them all aftermarket with Speedo, tach, Oil pressure/temp, Fuel pressure/level, Water temp, Boost, EGT (possible).

I have a single din stereo and my 60mm gauges mounted below it right above the ashtray...
I like the idea of having them mounted behind a piece of plexy near the center vents...
I was maybe thinking of putting the gauges where the passenger dash wood trim is and a put a piece of the smartglass material in front of it so at the push of a button the gauges disapear behind the frosted panel. I could put 4-5 gauges there with less then a few hundred for the parts not including gauges.

IMO this would be very noticeable to the outside world(which you stated you do not want).... especially at night.
I like it when people put it in the wood section above the glove box angled towards the driver....

That really sucks if your going pretty fast. It may not seem like it, but its pretty far out of your vision when your looking at the road. It would be too distracting for me trying to check the gauges while doing 120

In place of the AC Vents:

It's not noticeable from the outside, right in your line of view, and you won't miss the ac vents, believe me.
