Unhappy Coolant Question

Ok guys, I am having a bit of a problem. I had my car in for service two weeks ago to get the waterpump and timing belt replaced. On my way back from the dealership, I noticed steam coming from under the hood so I pulled into a gas station and noticed that the coolant tank bottle cap was missing, so I got a new one put on. Last Thursday, the temp guage started creeping up again, so I pop the hood and noticed no coolant in the bottle, so I filled her up. Today, the car started running hot again, so I popped the hood and noticed NO COOLANT AGAIN! WTF is wrong with my car??? Please help.

You may have a leak somewhere, check all your hoses and the newly replaced waterpump. If no leaks, you may have air in your cooling system. Remove your radiator cap (with engine cooled ofcourse), then run your engine and let it idle. Fill your reservoir with antifreeze/water slooooowly as needed. Be extra careful with hot cooling fluid. Have a large towel nearby to throw over the reservoir if the fluid boils and gets out of control. Do the above procedure at your own risk.

I'd bring it back to the dealer if was recently serviced for the waterpump. They could have not put it back together right. Let them fix it while you sport around in a new LS400 while they fix their problem!!!

did they change the thermostat and seal? If the seal on the thermostat housing is bad that could be the place where the water is leaking from.

When the car is hot, but be CAREFULL, check to see if thermostat housing is leaking or seaping water out from there. A easy fix if thats is the problem.
