Default Geat Ratio (changing)

I wrecked my SC400 a long time ago but I'm thinking about getting an SC300 with manual transmission and then some upgrades. I have a program called car test and the top speed with some of the upgrades I wanted is only 153. After changing the top gear ratio it went up to 183. I'm not experienced when it comes to transmissions so does anyone know how I would go about this? Would I need a new transmission or is it simpler than that?

Thanks...

The auto Supra TT rear differential is a direct swap. It is 3.77 vs the 4.11, or something like that.

A higher differential will make your gears longer and increase possible top speed. Just need more power.
