Default New to Lexus, what needs to be done to make some power?

Hi guys, new to the lexus scene. Was debating on getting a 99 Cobra or a SC300. With the Cobra i can add a supercharger on it and a few bolt ons and get alittle over 500 RWHP. But i love the look of the sc with a body kit and rims sooo much also. What needs to be done to these things to make them perform like Supras? Like 500 RWHP?? Are they bulit proof like Supras also?? Anythin additional information would be greatly appreciatd! THanks!

It's a good thing you bought an SC300 then. You can use virtually any of the Supra parts and Supra aftermarket on the SC300. This includes the TURBOS! 500rwhps shouldn't be hard to turn out at all. There are at least four guys here with over 500rwhps on their SC300s. SC300TURBO has 537rwhps, SC300TT has one with 765rwhps, and SC300T has 575rwhps. Ebanks a pretty quick SC300 too, but I don't have numbers for his car. SC300TT is working on an even meaner SC300 with over 800+rwhps (or more?) Anyway, it's definitely do-able. And because it's a Lexus and not a Toyota, they are EVEN MORE bullet proof cars than the Supra is.

Whats the difference between the Supra N/A motor and the SC300 motor. I was looking at a Supra also, went to supraforums.com and they said if i went with a N/A Supra that i woudl SOL on everything. Because the Turbo Supra has so many more features to accomdate for the turbo, IE: rearend, driveline, brakes, diff motor..etc..etc..etc. That is my only main concern. Plus people running 500 rwhp with stock bottom ends too?

BS... read though some previous posts -- keywords 2JZ-GTE 2JZ-GE.

The GTE is in the Supra TT the GE is in the supra N/A.

baseically the same block (oil squirters on the GTE)

the SC300 can take ALL of the supra driveline components... 92-94 have a smaller trans tunnel, need to use the BFH to get the supra 6 sp to fit...

i'd say more but i just dislocated a figer today & fractured a bone in my hand... gee whiz casts make it hard to type

yes ppl run 500 hp w/ stock bottoms. the head gasket that lowers compression to 8.5:1 helps up the boost levels.

do a search using the button on the top of the page for TOYOMOTO they make really nice & Hi quality turbo kits for the SC300
