Default 97+Taillight fitment??

So my 93 came with 97+taillights and both started building up condensation??...so i replaced the driver side light first and had a hard time getting it out by hand(had to use a hammer and tap the screw)and a harder time fitting the light back in that I had to get a screwdriver to bend the tab a little to get it in...is this tight fit normal??do I need to re-drill 1/2" over??..is the stress maybe what's causing the light to maybe leak and condensate??

Thanks

I had a little hard time installing my 97+ tails on my 92. I did the same, used a big flat screwdriver to guide the tabs into the wholes. Wasnt that bad the second time when I pullled it out to install my 97 bumper.

About the moisture in the tails, Im not too sure because I'm not experiencing any condensation yet.

Well at least I know it wasn't just my car...it was hit on the driver side but,it shouldn't affect both sides?..but,as far as condensation weather is weird here in Atlanta hot/cold and humidity is just deadly

I have 97 on my 92, no need to take the bumper off. Although it will help to remove the plastic fasteners above the rear bumper.

When reinstalling (driver's side), start with the left side of the taillight and push at the right end.

I mean i eventually got it in but, just didn't know if it was common for a tight fit or just my car...now to figure out the condensation problem..

I did the same. To the OP, the reason for this is because the section between the taillights is a tad wider on the pre 97 bumpers.

Another reason why '95-'96 tailights rock.

Not so much of a hassle just drill one hole about 1/2 over...it's worth it to me since I love building and fabricating things..95-96 tail would be my next choice though..
